Miriam Gilmore, a successful entrepreneur, Licensed Mortgage Banker and Retail Owner is passionate about sharing her journey with women who want to take control of their life after major personal and professional challenges.
Licensed in Real Estate at the age of 18, Miriam’s entrepreneurial spirit began early on and eventually led to a 16-year career as the owner of Mutual Trust Title, a successful Title Insurance Agency in S. Florida. After nearly two decades in business, Miriam was faced with the reality of reinventing herself when the mortgage meltdown hit home. Miriam decided to close her company and allow the market to settle. Not an easy decision by any means, as she had started this business from the ground up and identified her success with the success of the company. Needing to back to business, Miriam decided to pursue her passion for furniture and design and decided to dive into the world of retail. In 2009 Miriam made the unexpected move to the retail industry as the new owner of The Furniture Exchange, a popular furniture consignment store in Miami, Florida. In the midst of all these professional challenges and shortly after taking on a new business her personal life was also rocked with the end of her 16 year marriage. Despite these challenging turning points in her business, career, and personal life, Miriam has always triumphed by believing in the power of choice in the face of change. She uses her experiences to empower other women who are faced with their own choices after divorce, a career rut, or loss of business. The dynamic 39 year old and mother of two continues to run The Furniture Exchange, close residential mortgage loans for clients, and use her relentless drive and sense of humor to inspire others through speaking engagements, special events, and media appearances.
